We go to Massassauga Conservation Area for walks and to take pictures. We have been there a few times lately but this one particular day all we saw was this Northern Watersnake. Snakes are not one of my favourites but they can be unique and interesting. They are a fair sized snake, anywhere from 60-110 cms and there are some known to be longer. So here are a couple of photos I took of him/her. You can sort of see how big this one is by the size of the pinecone.
That’s it for snakes. Take care.
For not liking snakes as I don’t, you captured some great photos of this slithering serpent! ❤️

Oh wow! The first photo got my attention! Really cool shot with the forked tongue. Are they poisonous?

Thanks! Not poisonous but they will bite. The only venomous snake we have in our province is the Massasauga Rattler which I have never seen.

A bite would be bad enough! 😱 If you ever see a Massasauga Rattler, I hope it is through your telephoto lens.

I think snakes have the most beautiful skin. Not crazy about them in person but I love looking at them. Thank you for sharing your pictures with us!
