We did see quite a few birds while we were there. I did not take my big lens to Africa, I have a 500 mm lens which is great for birding but it weighs a ton. Plus I already had 2 camera bodies and 2 other lenses (17-200 and 70-300), we could only take so much stuff. Honestly except for 3 or 4 occasions, I did not need that lens. We did see a black Rhino at a distance that would have benefited from a bigger lens and I have a couple of bird shots that could have been better but I do not regret my decision to leave the big one at home.
Here are a bunch of birds we saw and only one bird that I could not find, nor remember, the name of and that photo is a little blurry and the only photo I have of him/her.
