We were in Chattanooga, Tennessee for a few days and one day we drove 6 miles away to Lookout Mountain in North Georgia. We bought tickets to go to Rock City. This is one of the best tourist attractions I have ever been to and I have been to a lot. Mostly outdoors, you walk a trail through and around a mountain and see some amazing outdoor sculptures and other items of interest. Below is a quote from their website. Above photo, and first one below, are inside a cave we walked through and they had quite a number of storybook scenes showcasing Mother Goose stories.
” Rock City Gardens is a 4100-ft walking trail surrounded by natural geological and botanical wonders featuring a 90-ft waterfall; the Swing-A-Long Bridge, a 180-ft long suspension bridge that provides a fantastic view of the Chattanooga valley; Lover’s Leap, where you can See Seven States; Fat Man’s Squeeze, Fairyland Caverns and Mother Goose Village.”
I would definitely recommend it and would go back. At one point on the trail, there was a large area which had a store, restaurant, washrooms and some seating overlooking the valley.

One more Fairy Tale set up
tight squeeze!
Great trails
I love the red door
I did not go on this bridge, anyone who knows me knows that I’m a huge ‘fraidy cat
Twists and turns
Cool carvings
I absolutely hate garden gnomes but I made an exception here
We also went to Ruby Falls which is on Lookout Mountain but apparently in Chattanooga so………..it was also a neat place to visit. A young an named Leo Lambert discovered it by accident in 1928 and named it after his wife Ruby. This attraction has been open to the public since 1929.

Entrance, gift shop
A young man found this cave and I don’t know how he was able to get into it

We did quite a bit while we were in this area, one more post on Chattanooga and then off to Pigeon Forge !
