Now we are off to Caceres which is also a World Heritage site because of the blending of Roman, Islamic, Northern Gothic and Italian Renaissance architecture. Really interesting buildings in this city. As we walked around, I went into this tiny museum where they were displaying these outfits. I found out the pointy hats are Capirotes, which they wore as penitents so attention was not drawn towards themselves as they repent but the attention was given to God. Seriously? If I saw someone wearing one of these pointy hats, you can be assured my attention would be fully on that person!
