Another busy day which is great for us, we like to see lots and do more. Above photo is Patuxai, a massive war monument and triumphal arch in the center of Vientiane. By the way, Vientiane is the capital of Laos.

We hired some tuk tuks and a few of us went exploring to see Wat Pha That temple and Wat Siskaket temple and some other items of interest, like the Arch in above photos and paragraph.

Later that day Clint and I walked to the Laos Visitor centre with another couple from our group. It was not your normal Visitor Centre, it was quite sad and upsetting. “Did you know Laos is the most heavily bombed country in the world, per capita? More than two million tons of bombs were dropped on Laos between 1964 and 1973. An estimated 30 per cent of them did not detonate, and continue to kill and injure. They also prevent communities from growing enough food and accessing schools, hospitals and clean water.” I took this quote from the Visitor Centre website.
We spent quite a lot of time there and they had videos to watch and more displays upstairs. Our world can be a very sad and cruel place.
A few random shots below and then the next day we head to the airport and fly to Hanoi in Vietnam.

Lots of people had these little temples outside their homes
