We had nice weather at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park, 28 Celsius and sunny both days we were there. It only took us about 50 minutes to get here from Thunder Bay. We have been to this park before and it’s very nice and the site we had was pull through and very private, we were at Site 68.
We did our usual drive around the Park to reacquaint ourselves with what’s what and saw a groundhog and some Grouse along the Park roads.

We stopped at the Falls and then the Visitor Centre which is across from the Falls.
Just outside the Park is the small village of Kakabeka Falls and we went in to the Metropolitan Moose store and bought some pastries, probably won’t go there again! That’s all I will say about their pastries but it was a cute spot.
We could really see the smoke and smell it from the forest fires going on in Ontario while at this Park.
They have a nice beach and a Dog Beach and no one was at either one when we went for a walk. We did see some cute Piping Plovers at the Dog Beach hanging out.

Arrow Provincial Park is pretty close to this Park, about 50 kms away. We haven’t been there so thought we would take a drive and see what they have to offer. They only have 30 sites and 20 are seasonal so it is a very small park, no comfort station, no electricity; it’s very rustic. I hear banjos…… But the sites are pretty flat and quite private. They also have a nice lake but no trails to walk.

On the way back from this Park we stopped at the White Fish Lake Boat Launch and spotted about 16 pelicans and a couple of cormorants. So weird seeing Pelicans in Canada but they are definitely here, Winnipeg Manitoba has a LOT of pelicans. The lighting was really bad but I took photos anyways and you get to see the awful results!

We also went to the Cedar Falls Conservation Area, it’s only about one km to the Falls but it’s a nice trail and the falls are cute, but not big.

And just to finish off with some other photos I took at this Park but first to explain the photo below. I am not a Birder, which is someone who photographs birds all the time and knows the differences between the bazillion different types of wrens lol. So I go by the chart below, it helps me identify birds that I may see.
