Algonquin Park – Fall 2025 – Part 4

So above is one of the cows that I photographed in Algonquin Park. She was a beauty. The moose population in Algonquin Park has significantly declined in the last few years which is very sad. For me anyways as they are my favourite animal and I could spend all day watching them.

We saw a few beavers and of course, always the right time, right place to see them. We drove by Turtle Rock, below and I spotted a beaver. They really blend in, can you spot him? He is to the left of the rock eating.

We also saw more snakes than is usual this time of year, I think the weather had an affect on that. Warning…..2 snake photos coming up….

We had a group of wild turkeys strutting around campsite fairly often. It was just before Thanksgiving so they were pretty brave! I photographed two cows who were together and at one point, it looked like one was yelling at the other! We also saw a couple of Pileated Woodpeckers and a fox and more. One of our campsites below. We had to change sites because we were there so long !

As I mentioned, we still had a great time but more moose and bear or wolf or two would have made the trip all that much better. There is always next year.

Next, and last, post will be on some trails we did in the Park.

See you soon.
