This is a sanctuary for rhinos and we saw lots of ’em ! They are one of the coolest animals and we even saw a Rhino family, ma, pa and the little one. And just like moose, they are called, bulls, cows and calves. There is also a small herd of black Rhinos living here and they were saved from extinction when Kenyan conservationists took them out of zoos and let them go free in the Park. Kudos to them. Keeping animals safe from extinction is one of the very few reasons that I believe in zoos. Yes I’m one of those people………..
Now for some rhino photos and also photos of the Park itself………

Such a beautiful park
Lions under the trees! More on them in another post
3 Friends
Rhinos are grazers but Black Rhinos are browsers
Just a tree
Clint took this as I was videoing rhinos with my phone
uh oh! We need a crossing guard
I think he missed dinner
Hello handsome!
the Family

Hope you enjoyed the rhinos, we did see a Black rhino but he was so far away so no photos. They keep their distance from the other rhinos.
See you next post !

The Savanah is beautiful! Rhinos are very dangerous animals, so I’ve read but I’ll stay far away. I have a blogging friend who lives in Kenya.

Yes they sure can be dangerous, we were never too close. It’s great to have a “big” lens

Very cool pictures of the Rhinos Susan. I like the family and the snoozing Rhino and the one that looked like it was charging toward you.

I saw on todays news that there are only two White Rhinos left, both females. The last male died recently but they preserved his sperm. The females are too old to conceive, so they are confident a surrogate (Southern Rhino) can be used.
They may be able to save the White Rhino!

I hope so, there aren’t too many Black rhinos left either I don’t think. We were lucky and saw two, at different locations

He is handsome! How amazing to see rhinos in the wild. Don’t imagine that is too common. Thank you for sharing. All wonderful – really love the “family” shot. So sweet. Happy adventuring to you!

That was my favourite part of the trip, we went while there were young ones, some of the lion cubs we saw were maybe a month old. I do love the babies.
