We are in Lisbon ! We stopped at this big monument which was built for Prince Henry the Navigator. It’s set by the water, Tagus River estuary, and it’s huge and it’s beautiful. Photo above.

Beautiful spot
A map of the world on the cement in front of the monument
I love how they do their walkways
We did a lot of driving around Lisbon to see as much as we could but I didn’t take a lot of photos. After our morning tour, we had some free time to look around on our own so off we went. We headed back down to the water and walked all around and up and down the street. Later in the day, in another area, we found a nice rooftop restaurant/bar overlooking the water and we could see all the cruise ships coming and going.

Such lovely cities in this part of the world
Gateway we walked through to get to the waterfront
Fountain!
So many outdoor patios
Lots of statues
Cute rooftop bar we found
Our view
Lots and lots of walking up and down hills
A street
We did see some strange things, I have no idea what this is
Off to the town of Caceres ! See you soon…..

Wow guys, I love the beautiful architecture! Europeans build differently that we westerners do for sure. The sidewalks and streets are very nice too. The big blowup thing in the last photo reminds me of Mrs. Puff in the SpongeBob Square Pants cartoons. My kids liked that show. I would be very tempted to jump into that beautiful fountain and splash around, 63 going on 6 years old haha! Thanks for the tour, guys! ❤️😎

I love all those cobblestone streets and paver bricks everywhere and I like that map in the cement – also unique. What a view you had from the rooftop there. What type of walking shoes or hiking boots did you two wear for all this walking? You’d have to wear something sturdy and slip-proof for all those bricks, especially if it rained.

I wore Oboz walking shoes, very comfortable and a thick sole. Clint wore Iowa hiking boots. I loved those maps, it was so hard to get a decent photo though.

I am going to write the Oboz walking shoes down. I’ve worn Easy Spirit “Punter” style since I began walking in 2011, but who knows if they change or eliminate the style one day. When my hiking boots wear out, I might try Icebugs for Winter.

Everything is so beautiful, well kept and clean looking. All we see in the here is litter and unkept buildings. What a wonderful trip!

Yes same in our city, garbage everywhere and volunteers are always picking it up only to have it return the next day.
