South East Asia – Bangkok, Thailand – 2024 – Part 4

We rented a tuk tuk and headed down to the Grand Palace. It was pretty spectacular, the history and architecture. It was rainy today but it’s our last free day in Bangkok so we headed out anyways. I do have to mention that at the end of our tour, we end up back in Bangkok and we chose to stay another couple of days on our own before heading home.

It cost 500 Baht to enter per person which is about $20 Canadian dollars. 25 Baht is equal to about 1 Canadian dollar.

When we were done touring the palace inside and out, we headed down to the waterfront (by foot!) We like to do a lot of walking. But I digress, we headed down and took a ferry (about 50 cents Canadian) over to Wat Arun, a temple on the other side of the river. I took a lot of photos and I learned this is a great place for families/people to dress up in traditional clothing and have their photos taken. There were so many people doing that and the outfits are beautiful.

We took the ferry back to the other side and we noticed this dumpy, dirty, fantastic little dive bar right on the water. In we went…..

I am really loving doing these Blog posts even though the trip was 9 months ago, it’s bringing back all the memories of this great trip.

Until nxt time….

  1. I can see why you enjoy creating these posts, Susan! The architecture is very beautiful as are the people. Such a different culture compared to our western lives. ❤️😊

  2. I am learning alot about this area as I’ve never seen any travelogues or really read much about it. The buildings and everything are so spectacular and opulent Bangkok looks like it was everything you imagined it to be and more.
