Sault Ste Marie or the “Soo” is a terrific city. You can take the Agawa Canyon tour; go to an Art Gallery, stop at a microbrewery (there’s that word again), Canadian Bush plane museum, gamble at the Casino or walk along the Boardwalk and stop and have lunch outside. You are also close to Fort St Joseph National Historic Site.

2016 – GoManitoulin Island via the Chi-Cheemaun ferry, leaving from Tobermory ! If you take this ferry, particularly in the summer months, its best to make a reservation ahead of time……just sayin’. Its super busy. We arrived early in the morning and we were the first vehicle in line for the ferry. Had a lot of time to kill, so went exploring in the small town. Tobermory is located on a small harbour at the northern tip of the Bruce Peninsula. We had breakfast at Craigie’s one of the original buildings in Tobermory. Lots of little cafes and cute little shops; not to mention a microbrewery!

Bruce Peninsula National Park and Flowerpot Islands are next. We came to this area to hike to the Grotto and take a tour of the Flowerpot Islands.

McGregor Provincial Park was the first stop on our Lake Superior Circle Tour. It took about 5-6 hours to get here. With stops of course. We had site 223 which was an okay site; this is a busy park. You can do a lot of biking in McGregor Park and there are lots of trails to hike. I don’t know about paddling on Lake Huron but the Saugeen River is close by.

2016 – We left mid July to start our Lake Superior Circle Tour; staying at 14 Provincial Parks Ontario, 1 Provincial Park Manitoba, 2 National Parks, 2 US State Parks and 7 private campgrounds.
