Bandung, Java, Indonesia – 2026 – Part 1

Bandung was an interesting city, we only spent two days here. Bandung is a city with a population of 2.77 million in the city proper and 8.5-9 million in the Metropolitan area making it the 3rd largest metropolitan area in Indonesia. Jakarta and Surabaya are the first two largest. We had great weather which was good for us because we like to do a lot of walking. We had a beautiful hotel, I had no complaints about any of our accommodations.

Unfortunately, it was a holiday and lots of things were closed while we were there. We wanted to go to the Geology Museum and the Asian-African Museum but they were closed. We were able to go to the Asian-African Museum the next day before we left. The night we were there we went to the Saung Ankklung Udjo which features children singing, dancing and playing instruments. They really included the audience, giving everyone a bamboo instrument at the end to join in. It was quite a lot of fun.

I have a few photos in the next post of Bandung, photos of out and about in the city.

See you next time

  1. Wow, such a very different culture from we Western folks! The hotel is lovely. The woman in the photo with Clint seems to have her eyes on him! ❤️😂
