Africa – Lake Nakuru National Park – Part One

Now we are on our way to Lake Nakuru. But on the way, we stopped at the Equator, picked some tea leaves and stopped at Nyahururu Waterfalls. Here are some photos along the way.

And then we stopped at the Equator ! Which also had a very large gift shop

We passed some plants growing in a field and our guide told us it was tea leaf plants, he stopped and got us a leaf to look at. Tea is one of Kenya’s main exports.

Then we stopped at Nyahururu Falls, or Thomson’s Falls, as some call it. They also had people dressed up and you could get a photo with them, for a fee of course. They have to make a living too.

Finally, we got to our resort !

Stay safe everybody !

  1. Your cabin looks very nice as does the resort! The countryside is very beautiful there, wow! How fun it is to meet Canadians and Americans so far from North America! 🇺🇸🇨🇦

  2. The resort looks very nice Susan. Interesting how the settlement looks but then they don’t have the harsh Winter weather like we do, so it works for them. I can imagine that the Equator would be a tourist attraction and a chance to set up shop to have souvenirs, or to take pictures. I will look forward to seeing the next leg of your journey – I got really behind in WP … lots of people posting daily for Blogjanuary Challenges.

      1. In Reader I see a prompt every day, called BlogJanuary which is a different daily Challenge and people do that … every day in the month of January. They give you the prompt, you write a post. For you, you write about travels; for me, I write about walks, so we don’t run out of things to write about. I have only recently started participating in the weekly Challenge – my first time doing a Challenge. Terri asked me last Fall if I wanted to do it – she runs the Challenge. I said, at that time, I had many walks to write about and could probably use the Challenge word/color within it. I still have about 12 or 13 walks I haven’t written about yet. I do a rough draft when I get home and match it to the photos later. Sometimes I post something different – I will do that next week. Not my usual walk post.

      2. You’re welcome Susan. I would like to be a few posts ahead – I was all last Summer, then got behind doing so … perhaps if my posts weren’t so long and picture laden, just sayin’. 🙂
