Another day in The County….

This past Friday we headed to The County for a few hours, we haven’t been there for a while so we were looking forward to it . We have been to the Waring House many times but never for breakfast, it was quite good and the Waring House has always been a great spot.

After that we stopped at Agrarian Market in Picton, what a terrific little bakery/store. They have some unique items and their croissants and homemade bread are very good, as well as the other stuff! 

On to Prince Eddy’s Brewery, one of our favourite breweries. They had a couple of new beer releases so we popped in just to buy some to take home.

Next on our stop was Sandbanks Provincial park for a walk by Lake Ontario. It was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed the fresh air. It has been like spring here in Canada, where I live, and our snow is almost all gone. The winters are getting warmer and less winter-like for sure.

Then off to try a new brewery that opened up about 5 months but I just heard about it this past week so I think they need to up their advertising.  It will become one of our favourites, we enjoyed their beer and our visit. We also bought a few to take home as well as sitting and sipping while we were there. So below are photos of Dune Hopper Brewery !

While we were there, the owner told us that All My Friends Brewery had a new beer out made with cannabis, no THC. All My Friends is another of our favourite spots (great beer) so we thought we would stop in. It’s not the easiest place to find and their signage could be a lot better but it’s worth it. I had a sip of this new beer and didn’t like it so I got a glass of their Pale Ale, which I do like. More beer to be bought and taken home. If you aren’t in Canada then you may not be aware that Cannabis is legal in our country and honestly there is a cannabis store on every corner.

That was the end of a great day and hope for a WHOLE lot more, I’m getting older and I want all my days to be this terrific!

  3. You had a great getaway day. We also have had some nice weather and will get to 56F (13C) on Friday. We still have a little snow too. I got out on Sunday and took some shoreline photos – I like the milkweed pods but didn’t see any, but there were some half-frozen reeds which looked like wheat sheaves. I like your Long-tailed Ducks. A few years ago Humbug Marsh posted that there was a Long-tailed Duck in the Pond, so I went to see it. They didn’t say it was a juvenile so it didn’t have the long tail that the species is known for but it was quite entertaining watching it, he only one swimming in the pond on a cold December day.

      1. Same here – maybe Monday dramatically colder. I am liking this sunny and warmer weather – it feels like late March/early April when you leave the house with a coat and return with it wrapped around your waist. I was surprised the milkweed pods were still fuzzy with snow/rain probably drenching them more than once.
