We are on our way to Amboseli National Park but we had a couple of stops on the way there. We stopped at Ocean Sole, Flip the Flop, to see what this terrific organization is all about. They recycle a million flip flops a year, recycle over one ton of styrofoam a month and save over 500 trees a year by using flip flops instead of wood to make functional products, toys and artwork. Isn’t that terrific? Flip Flops are the shoe of choice for a lot of Kenyans but they don’t last long, so this is an ideal way to recycle and reuse these items.

This is great and all made from Flip Flops
Bins and bins of flip flops

After this stop and a stop for lunch, we arrived at Ol Tukai Lodge in Amboseli National Park. What a great place, we really enjoyed our couple of days here.
It was funny, on the way into the resort, we saw two other resorts along the way that were abandoned. I guess construction on one stopped due to a dispute between owners and the other one was flooded out and never repaired so they sit empty.

Kind of sad to see them unused
This area can flood often which is good for animals but not buildings
A few photos of our resort and my Stalker, yes I had a Peeping Tom.

Ah we made it !

I love the colours in the rooms
View from our porch and on the other side of the fence are the animals
I had a stalker !
I forgot to mention that we were told to always keep out doors locked at all times, the monkeys are quite smart and I took a video of one little guy getting into a garbage bag while a fellow was cleaning a room. He had left this bag and his supplies outside and the monkey was going to town ! I did put a video of him on my Trums Travels Facebook page. It was pretty funny.
While we are here, we visit a Masai Mara village and do a few safari drives. We really enjoyed this park. See you soon….

I like the colours in the rooms too, Susan, the whole place looks very nice! It is sad to see the other resorts abandoned. Honestly, the monkeys getting into things would get on my nerves… 😂🤭

Oh my gosh, clowns are sooo creepy! There is a motel in a small town north of Las Vegas called the Clown Motel. It has been investigated a few times and is thought to be haunted. People still rent the rooms though! Follow the link: https://www.theclownmotelusa.com/

It was very impressive! We went to a restaurant yesterday in Hoi An, Vietnam called Oodles of Noodles, they take street kids and teach them how to cook. We did a cooking class there and it was awesome. One of the kids ended up going out on his own starting his own restaurant. Another great organization.😊

I could see locking your doors for fear of big animals, but the monkeys … now that if funny.
