Cincinnati, Ohio – Northern Road Brewing Co. and an Underground Tour

Northern Road Brewing Co is set in an old furniture factory, in a very tall building, I think about 6 or 7 stories. We went there to have a beer (state the obvious Susan) and also because we had signed up for an underground tour and it started at the brewery.

I loved the look of this place and we sat up on a little stage area on some cool old furniture and had our dinner.

We took a 90 minute tour and we were the only two on the tour. Dean was our guide and he was a very good speaker, he is also a teacher as well as part timing as a guide. We were a little disappointed as we didn’t go underground for much of the time at all, most of it was walking the streets but we gained a lot of history and some great stories along the way.

I didn’t think there would be that much to do in Cincinnati but I was wrong. We had a great time here but next stop is Columbus !

  1. This looks like an interesting place Susan. I liked the outside and the vintage-type furniture. That tunnel is spooky and you were pretty brave going up and down the steep stairs – yikes indeed! I wouldn’t have thought there was that much to do in Cincinnati either!

  2. We love going to Cincinnati. After your post we thought we will make a day trip again. We love shopping at Jungle Jims. Every section of the store is a different ethnic food, any spice etc. I bought camel meat, alligator meat, etc. They have every kind of fish, turtle soup, eel…anything you can think of. The way we heard about it was on one of the TV shows. They said it had one of the best bathrooms in Ohio. 🤣 When we went the first time to see the bathroom, we were so fascinated in all the different food that we forgot to go into the bathroom.🥴 So we went back a year later. If you google Jungle Jims in Cincinnati click on the photos!

    1. Oh wow, I forgot about that place, I think you mentioned it before on your blog. That would have been cool to go there, we’ll have to make another trip to Ohio! I was surprised, to be honest, at how many things there are to do there, we really enjoyed Ohio.

  3. You found and captured some great spots and sights. An old furniture store turned brewery is fabulous and that beer tunnel is too cool! Love the flowers and the abandoned building. Would be something to walk through. Great eye! Thank you for sharing more of your visit.
