Pigeon Forge, Tennessee – Part 2

As I mentioned in the previous post, Pigeon Forge is loaded with attractions and entertainment. They have a Titanic Museum which was really well done and when we entered ($35 each but worth it) we were each given a boarding pass of one of the passengers. At the end of our visit, we could see if we lived or died. I forget who I was but I lived. Hurrah ! The museum was shaped like the Titanic and they even had the iceberg outside ! The photo above is of the Captain and his dog; the dog was not on the Titanic that trip.

They had some really cute miniature golf courses. We like mini-putt and one day we did 54 holes, a bit much I know ! We had to take a funicular up the side of a mountain to start playing at the Hillbilly Golf course and we were told that about an hour before we got there, a bear had been up there but they shooed him away. I am going to try to shoo wildlife away next I see some lol

Clint wanted to do the Rocky Top Coaster but I did not want to do it, so I didn’t….at first……..

He went on his own and then we both went, I am a huge chicken when it comes to this kind of activity. I don’t even Jay Walk. But I did it, never will do it again. The little cart I was on went very fast and we were up high, still not sure how I got there !

Next post, we’ll go to the Alcatraz Crime Museum and maybe a brewery or two !

See you soon….

  1. I’ve always been fascinated with the “Titanic” vessel, maybe because it sank on my birthday … or rather, I was born on the anniversary of its demise. Your pictures and the exhibits were interesting to me, as was the link to the actual museum. I did not know they had museums (2) about the “Titanic”. A few years ago, I saw a article about a tour of the actual Titanic artifacts, so I paid to take it. There was a deluxe tour and a basic tour. I sprang for the “deluxe” which you could pan the entire exhibit and pause at any exhibit and hovering your mouse over it, you could read info about it. I was glad I did it but this would be interesting to see. A fellow blogger (I think??) did a post about the Hillbilly Golf – he said he always wanted to go there as a kid and the parents said it was too costly, so,when he was an adult he decided to go to it himself. I remembered the funicular ride at the attraction.

    1. Yes we have visited a couple of titanic museums, and yes, it is a fascinating story and I feel it’s one of those incidents that will always be compelling. I didn’t know it sank on your birthday date! The Hillbilly golf was pretty fun, I’m glad he got to go when he was able 🙂

      1. They had an exhibit with some of the genuine artifacts from the Titanic touring a few years ago and it was at The Henry Ford (f/k/a Greenfield Village). Tickets went on sale and were sole out almost immediately – they are offered to members first. Same for when they had some Beatles artifacts come to the same venue. I think so too – the great unsinkable ship. Yes, my birthday date is the same as the Titanic’s sinking and Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Gloom and doom on that date. 🙂 Yes, he was glad after all those years to go there.

  2. Hillbilly golf – that’s fantastic! 👍🏻😁 Thank goodness that is a safe iceberg! Cool museum and you reminded me that I’ve never shared my Titanic Museum photos from Ireland. Also, very cool and overwhelming sad. I had to step out midpoint… 😢 Thank you for sharing!

    1. haha you are right! I believe no matter how old we are, it’s never too late to act like a kid and do things you enjoy. I can’t walk past those cutout board things without sticking my face in and getting a picture taken lol
