I am not sure what happened to my photos, I did have some photos when we stopped in Coimbra but I also had photos from Fatima. The only photo I can find for Fatima is the one above, he was outside our hotel. I think it’s Shaun the Sheep ! When we were in Fatima, we walked over to the big square and there was a lot going on. At the Shrine of Fatima, they were having a candlelight processional and lots of people were praying and buying candles at the church. We saw some people crawling on their knees, about 600 feet, across the square to get to the chapel. They do this as an act of penance heading to the Chapel of Apparitions, after that, they circle around the Chapel on their knees while praying. It was interesting to learn about the history and watch all the people and I wish I knew where my photos went to ! But, on to Coimbra, it was a University town and we had to walk up a very steep hill, for a long time, to get to the top but it was worth it.
So here are a few photos from Coimbra…….

Heading Up !
Part of the university
statue in a square
Top of the World !
Long walk down but we stopped to eat and drink
Back at the bottom
Another beautiful city
We stopped on the way down and had a meal with some of the others on our tour. The food was very good and to sit out on the patios and watch everyone go by was a lot of fun. I bought a Cork purse here, they are famous for Cork items. Really unique and pretty items. I read that they produce more than 50% of the world’s cork supply. I wish I had bought more cork items now but maybe one day I will get back there.
Next stop, Lisbon……..

The city looks very nice, i love the streets, very artistic. I’m sorry that you lost some of your photos, Susan, it’s so irritating when that happens. 😭

I’m sure they must be somewhere but I can’t find them. And I had some interesting shots ☹️

I suggest stop looking for them, then they will suddenly appear!

Interesting about the cork and that sheep sure is unique outside the store. That’s too bad about losing all the photos – what a shame. Years ago I went on a Panama Canal cruise and the day we made the 8-hour transit, I got up at the crack of dawn to get a place to stand the entire time, not in the direct sun. When I took my film rolls to be developed, the in-house photo store lost those two rolls of film! The ship’s photographer and I were at the same table and so I wrote to him and asked if I could at least buy some of the photos he took and they offer to passengers to buy – he sent me several, no charge, as he takes new photos each cruise … how does an in-store photography processing store lose two rolls of film?

Oh wow! That’s tough and you’re right, how do they lose the film. That’s literally their only job!

I know, right?! And, I forgot to mention – did you ever read the fine print when taking in a roll of film? Probably not – I know I didn’t. All you are compensated for is the roll of film – nothing more. I didn’t even get “we’re sorry!”

What a beautiful city Susan. I love seeing the architecture as it’s so different from ours. You’ll find those pictures! 🤞🏻
