Spain – Ronda and Costa del Sol

We stopped in the very unique city of Ronda for a few hours and had lots of free time to explore the city. We walked to an overview of the city, walked to a church, a bullring and a few other places. We really enjoyed this city. There is one spot that was used during an episode of the Amazing Race TV show, see the video here , they had to tightrope walk from one side to the other.

I did not want to go to the Bullring but there is a lot of history and they don’t do the Bulls/Matador stuff here anymore so we did get tickets to go in and do a tour.

We left Ronda and headed to Costa del Sol, right on the water and very pretty town situated on the Mediterranean Sea.

Next stop………Granada!

  1. Wow! This city is very beautiful, I love the church and the many lovely old buildings and architecture. I’m glad that these people no longer do the bullfight thing. I think it’s cruel is is men riding bulls here in the states. The beach looks fantastic and very inviting! Thanks for sharing this beauty, guys!

    1. thanks John ! I am glad about the bull fighting too. I didn’t even want to go because I thought they still did it but they do not. It was interesting history but I agree with you about bullfights and bull riding.

  2. That bullring tour was impressive. I went to the bullring in Madrid and didn’t want to watch a bullfight and told my friends this. We had a fight that afternoon, so I got a few shots in the ring beforehand – this place looks much bigger. I see a monument, probably to the bullfighters that lost their lives in the ring? In Madrid, they had a little chapel where the bullfighters go to pray before the fight. That church was beautiful – all their churches were you have showed us and that I saw … the detail is amazing. I like the cobblestone streets in each of these cities. I was also in Costa del Sol and yes a beautiful place to vacation with the beaches and clear water (at least it was back in ’74 when I was there).
