Eastern Europe in the Spring! – Bucharest (for one more day) Romania – 2024

We packed up and left our hotel and our bus took us to Ceausescu’s house. We weren’t not allowed to take any photos of his house, which was huge and quite beautiful inside. After that we had some more free time in Bucharest so we went walking and went to the oldest bar in Bucharest for lunch, we had been there before. We had to be back at the hotel by 4:00 to meet our bus.

So now we go on the Emerald River cruise for 7 nights. After that were in Budapest for a a few days on our own and after that………well you will have to wait until I post it!

So now we leave on our 7 night river cruise, first stop will be in Bulgaria !

See you soon

  1. That oldest bar in Bucharest was very fancy as was your river cruise. I was picturing something smaller until I saw it as you were boarding – very long and luxurious inside. I took a peek at Clint’s galleries, this time from Algonquin from a while ago and the picture of the chipmunk stretching, then yawning and then maybe the same chipmunk on your arm while you were writing. Clint had some lovely wildlife pics in that gallery, especially the goslings, ducklings and the moose (your favorite).

    1. I hope sometimes you look at my photo gallery on my blog! I haven’t updated for a while but I will when we get home😊. It was a nice river boat but river cruising, we decided, isn’t really our thing just yet😁

      1. I will go over there Susan and check it out … I am really behind with everything. I took a four-week online sketching and watercolor class in botanicals and field sketching. I really liked the class and it finished up yesterday, but we had assignments. Luckily (I guess) we had so much rain the last three weeks, I spent a lot of time sketching and painting, but, when it got nice for a few days, I went outside again to walk and get photos in larger parks. Then I spent almost one whole rainy day sorting through all the pictures I had taken and not had time to look at yet, only to go out again and take more pictures. My French lessons have had to take a backseat for now – I’m doing them, but have dropped two levels.

      2. That sounds wonderful! A sketching and watercolor class. You should show us some pictures. I like to paint but I’m not good. This past winter I threw out all my paintings. I have a bunch of new canvases so I’m going to keep painting until l like them lol

      3. I am hoping to get to the point where I can include them in some of my posts and I still hope to join the plein air painting group, maybe next Summer, once I learn how to do landscapes. Baby steps for now! I like the teacher and she has a ton of sketching/watercolor tutorials online so I will check out them too. If I did acrylics I would have nowhere to put them. I have stacked up all my class paintings in one place. She suggested we make a sketchbook and write where we did the sketch (if field sketching) and notes about what was happening at the time.

      4. That’s a great idea she has to make notes about each sketch. I don’t think I would do well at sketching, painting is more forgiving. And I do look forward to seeing your work one day

      5. Her sketchbook is very interesting – she even notes weather when she did the sketch. I hope to put some botanicals, even small critters in my blog as I get better. 🙂
