Eastern Canada, Here we Come – Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland -2025- Part 2

The Salmon Interpretation Centre was another enjoyable spot. You park your car and then walk down to the Gift shop (there’s always a gift shop isn’t there?) and then further to the Visitor Centre and you can wander the outside area to see the salmon. It was $17 total for us both to go in and we were there quite a while. They had a short movie to watch and we were told there are 31 Ladders for the salmon to climb up on to lay their egges.

I forgot to mention, when we were here, we stayed at Sanger Memorial RV Park and it was a great spot to stay and only $38 for full hookup.

Some other places we went to included Leading Tickles, Point of Bay, Cottrells Cove and Fortune Harbour. We drove by a lake and there were hundreds of these little nets/buoys. We asked and they were oyster traps and the boxes they are stored in. We also went to a terrific dinner theatre in Grand Falls-Windsor called the Queen Street Dinner Theatre. We really enjoyed it and it was called Takin’ Care of Business which showcased all Canadian singers and groups. I think there was at least a dozen people in the band/singers and they were all very talented. They do have different entertainment though, for example Solid Gold Country and others. Corduroy Brook Nature Centre was another spot we enjoyed, we went for a long hike there and it’s worth spending time there if you are in the area.

This was a great area with lots to do, highly recommend it.

Next stop…………Twillingate………always has been one of my favourites in Newfoundland.
