We only spent about 8 days at the Park this trip and it would have been nice to stay longer but the forecast was rain, rain, rain…………. the photo above is March Hare Lake on Arowhon Road. It’s one of my favourite views.

There were still a few herons around
Not sure if this was Arowhon area or not but throwing it in anyways! The one spot of colour

I had posted a Blog in May, when we were in Algonquin, that we had finally made it to Bartlett Lodge for dinner. Set on Cache Lake, you must call from a phone on the dock and they come by boat to get you. The meal was delicious and if you haven’t been to the Lodge for dinner, you should go. We decided we wanted to go again this trip and thankfully they weren’t too busy so we were able to get a reservation. When you are finished your dinner, you let them know and they boat you back to the parking lot.

Our table and you bring your own wine or drinks as they do not have a liquor license
Charcuterie board
Beetroot Salad
So mmany choices to choose from! We were served a charcuterie board first and then a choice of Roasted Butternut Squash and Pear Soup, Beetroot Salad, Pan Roasted Quail or Poached Shrimp and Seared Scallops. I had the Beetroot salad and Clint ordered the Shrimp/Scallops.
Main course choices were Beef Tenderloin, Roasted Lamb, Linguini Pasta, Blackened Arctic Char or Japanese Curry. The desserts were Chocolate Mousse, Citrus Curd, Creme Brulee, Apple Pie or Bartlett Cheesecake. It was all delicious and I hope one day to go again for dinner.
As we were leaving, I spotted this sign by the cash register.

There are many beautiful places, there, wow!! The beef or pasta are the only items on that menu that sound good to me but who’s too picky? 🤭

It is truly a delight to read and view your stories! Love the pop of red and the heron, of course. The yellow flowers are beautiful too and the food looks delicious. 😊👏🏻

1917 was when Bartlett Lodge was built. But the oldest building in Algonquin is a cabin at Basin Depot built in 1892. I love old buildings!

I thought the Lodge sounded fun the first time and think the same now – what a fun place and I like the idea of the boat ride to get there. That sign not to feed the bears gives me a smile. Too bad you had the rain, but you got a very nice header image despite it and I like the herons.
