Eastern Canada, Here we Come – Pinware River Provincial Park, Labrador -2025- Part 5

We left Port Hope Simpson to go to Pinware River Provincial Park about 170 kms. The temperature has been dropping, again……..15 Celsius today. In Ontario, it’s about 38 Celsius and then some. The scenery on this drive is a bit different, a lot rocks and chubby trees, kind of reminds me of the Yukon. Set up on our site and we were set up really quick, the black flies are something from a Stephen King novel. Pretty foggy in this area.

After we set up, we drove around the area, heading first to Mary’s Harbour which was cute and population about 470.

We stopped on a bridge to see the Pinware River, a beautiful spot and we noticed a bunch of guys climbing down the rocks to go fishing.

We drove to West Saint Modeste (population 330) which was pretty scenic.

We also went to L’anse au Loupe and L’Anse au Clair and headed home, it was a busy day. Below some photos of the area.

This post is a little long but I tried to just keep it to photos to give an idea of what Labrador looks like.

The next day we drove to Red Bay which is a very interesting spot.

See you then…

  1. The scenery is pretty along the way – I especially like the shot with the water and all the evergreens. What a shame with the black flies. The bunny is adorable … it’s face looks almost human. I can see why you took so many photos of the river and its rapids as it is very picturesque.
