This is our last stop for 3 nights before we catch the ferry to Newfoundland. For info, the word Labrador comes from a Portuguese explorer named Joao Fernandes “Lavrador”. (Labrador meaning landowner or farmer) He explored this region around 1500 eventually naming the land Labrador, as well as giving the name Labrador to a popular dog breed.
We are now a 6 km drive from where we are in Labrador to Blanc Sablon, Quebec where we will catch our ferry.
We stayed at Northern Lights campground (campground is a term I would use loosely in this instance) located in L’Anse au Clair, (population around 220). We did drive to another campground and also to a Municipal campground. These aren’t campgrounds like what one would think are campgrounds but they will do !

Scenery
We did a lot of driving and touring around while here it did rain a lot and it was chilly. We went to Vieux-Fort and Riviere Saint Paul one afternoon. Here some photos of those areas.

Trums Travels 
The scenery here is nice, those rolling waves especially in the one photo and the rapids/waterfall. They have a lot of large rocks I have noticed. The first campground … well at least they had a privacy fence and a picnic table as amenities too. 🙂

Oh how I love Jungle Jim’s!!!! The closest one is 4 hours away. We saw a segment on Food Network about it. They showcased the bathroom as it was decorated so cleverly. I just had to see it and when we got there I was excited by the size and layout of the place that I forgot to go inside the bathroom. It may be because the door looked like a port-a-pot door! We took 2 large coolers and I bought everything we can never get where we live. Turtle, camel, reindeer sausage and so on. We didn’t even make it to the grocery store on the other side. We were about 1/2 hour gone when I said I had to use the bathroom. I looked at my husband and we both said “The bathroom!!!” Anyhow, back to your trip. Cute picture with a barrel of monkeys, I love the little church and your campground was maintained nicely.
