Upon arriving at Moncton, we stayed at the Stonehurst RV Centre, within walking distance of their golf course. We had one of the sites above, another big field and the price was $50 per night, we are paying more as we move west. But, again, it suits our needs as we aren’t at our trailer very much anyways.
We were able to do some biking in Moncton while we were there for 3 days. They have lovely bike trails and Moncton is a really nice city with lots of things to see and do. And if you know us, we were particularly excited about to try the many breweries they have here. Just to be clear, we did not do them all in one day !
When biking in the city, we found the timings for when the tidal bore was going to happen on the Petitcodiac River, nicknamed the Chocolate River (79 kms long). We drove our bikes to the edge and they had seating for people to sit and watch the water come in. The day we were there, a surfer was ready to go as the waves came in and he did a good job. The tidal bore is a significant event, powerful tides of the Bay of Fundy push a wave upstream with waves reaching 0.5 to 1 metre high. This happens twice a day and is quite something to see.

We stopped for lunch at Tide and Bore Brewery (an apt name)for pizza and it was one of the most delicious pizzas we have ever had, which made up for their beer which we did not like lol.

A brewery we did like was Tireshack Brewing Company. For years this was a garage and when it shut down, whoever bought it made it into a brewery. I like hearing the history of business/buildings. And it’s awesome when buildings/businesses can be recycled.

Nice seating outside and in and the staff were terrific
Not a great photo but a photo they had hanging behind the bar, when it was a garage

We went for a couple of drives and spotted some cute places to go to. One was a coffee shop called Cinnamon Soul with great coffee and pastries. I also made a new friend there. And I completely forget her name and didn’t write it down but she was adorable.

Some miscellaneous photos I took while on our drive around the area.

This church was a store of some kind, we did not stop in

One afternoon we drove to Magnetic Hill winery. We sat on their beautiful deck, which was up high, having a great view, except for the wind. It kept knocking everyone’s drinks over, menus were flying through the air, it was havoc to be honest so we moved inside.

We were in Moncton a few days and there was so much to do so this is going to be it for this post, more to come !

I have seen the name Moncton on maps, thanks for the tour! The tide is amazing there, the red and white building is living dangerously. I like the design of really old churches, I hope the unused church will be used again for something. You two have a great new week!
