Eastern Canada, Here we Come – Moncton, New Brunswick -2025 – Part 3

I love that poster above which was on the wall at Flying Boats Brewery. It was a cute spot, no outdoor seating but they had some nifty posters on the walls. Happy Brewery and Pumphouse Brewery are both located downtown Moncton and we stopped at them when we were out biking. None of the beer we tried in Moncton were memorable, I mean the beer was okay but nothing stood out for us. But we still enjoyed the biking and the beering! I don’t think beering is a word but it is now.

Last but not least we went to Magnetic Hill .

I had been here as a child so needless to say, that was a very long time ago. But I am a child at heart so I like these types of attractions.

What is Magnetic Hill you may ask? So here it is……as we all know, cars don’t roll uphill BUT when you drive to the bottom of THIS hill, you shift your vehicle into neutral and your car will roll uphill which is kinda freaky. So how can this be? Apparently, it’s a visual illusion created by the grade of the road and the fact your eyes can’t see the horizon. Even though there is an explanation, it’s still pretty cool.

They have made this into a real tourist attraction. After, or before, you do the Magnetic Hill, there is Magnetic Hill Wharf Village where they have a number of stores and restaurants. It’s a very cute place, touristy yet but still cute.

Well that’s it for Moncton, I would definitely come back here and do some more biking and tourist type things. It’s a great area and lots to do and see.

Next stop ………….. Riviere du Loup, Quebec……..

  1. What a fun place! I would enjoy a visit to Moncton too. Peanut Butter Stout? I’ll take a sip at best! Cycling and beering can be dangerous you know… 😂😎

  2. This looks like another fun stop on your journey Susan. The Breweries were fun and for a moment I thought Mr. Peanut had a side hustle. Peanut Butter Stout – hmm. First marshmallows, now peanut butter with your brew. That was fascinating about Magnetic Hill and what happens per your explanation and the signs. Touristy little towns are fun, especially when they have brightly colored shops, a boardwalk instead of a sidewalk and a place where you can steer your own boat! 🙂

      1. Ha ha – well it’s fun to mix a little touristy stuff into the agenda every once in a while too. That little area was very appealing, fun-wise and photo-op-wise too!
