Rainbow Falls Provincial Park has two campgrounds, Rossport and Whitesands. We have always stayed at Whitesands which is on the inland side of the highway and the sites are quite wooded and close to the actual Falls. The Rossport campground is about 4 kilometres down the highway and on the Lake Superior shoreline, more open sites and not as many.

Our site Another view of our site, they have inground firepits here
We drove through the towns of Terrace Bay and Schrieber to get to the Park. Both nice little towns but we did not spot at them this trip. There is still a fire ban at the parks up here because of the horrible fires in northwest Ontario and across the border to Manitoba. Quite often, we can smell the smoke and as we get further north, we will be able to see it as well. We were only here two nights so we did walk to the Falls a couple of times, lots of stairs to get down to the bottom!

Lots of stairs ! And coming back up….
And we also did the Superior Trail which was quite nice, only about 3 kms but it was all up hill. They even had a rope tied to some trees to help get you up the steep rock face.
Up we go ! I made it to the top Nice view Part of the trail
Top of the World
Pretty park, not very big but they have nice beaches and a dog area and a couple of trails. We did not do any canoeing here as the weather was so-so again but Whitesands Lake is nice.

Well another Park down and about 15 more to go!
