I belong to a Facebook group that gives information about The County (Prince Edward County) and different festivals, events, new businesses etc. So the other day they showed a new restaurant opening where the Blumen Gardens used to be. If you are from around here, you will likely know where the place I am talking about is located. So this new restaurant is called Taste of Balkans, located at 647 County Rd 49, Picton. Hours, as of now, are 5-9 pm Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Phone – 1-647-205-6260. Oh yes and you can find recipes on her website!
The owner moved here from Belgrade, Serbia and the food is a mix of inspired by traditions of Serbia, Greece and surrounding regions.
On the post I read, which I now can’t find and don’t remember exactly, they stated they were doing a soft opening for a week or two? I honestly don’t remember, however it was $65 for 2 people and the meal consisted of pita chips and 3 types of dips, salad, meat plate, potatoes and baklava for dessert. A really good deal, wine not included lol. We had to take a doggie bag home, so much food !
I took a couple of pics with my IPhone but it was pretty busy and I didn’t want people thinking I was some kind of weird stalker but here they are. If you live locally, please try this spot, the food was terrific. Although they have just opened and need a bit more organization, the staff were awesome and very friendly and the inside was quite lovely. We will be going back one day !
