Beaches of Normandy – May 2025

Clint and I standing on Juno Beach. Juno Beach, one of the sites of the Canadian D-Day landings on June 6, 1944, is located along the Normandy coast in France, primarily centered around the town of Courseulles-sur-Mer. The landing zone stretched across several villages, including Bernières-sur-Mer and Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer.  The beach is situated between Gold Beach (British) to the west and Sword Beach (British) to the east.

We went to 3 of the beaches I believe, Juno, Omaha and Gold. There were 5 beaches in total; Juno, Omaha, Sword, Gold and Utah. I have my photos a bit mixed up so I do know the Omaha Beach and Juno Beach photos and then I have some miscellaneous photos.

The Normandy American Cemetery was another place we stopped at.

It was very moving to visit these spots and reflect on our past. It was quite emotional for all of us as it affected our group in one form or another.

Next stop ….. Paris !
