One day we drove west, out of the Park, and stopped at the side of the highway as I wanted to get shots of this scene, above. Fall is so pretty in Ontario.
We drove to a Non-Operating Provincial Park, meaning there are no facilities and no camping, the name was Big Wind Lake Provincial Park, accessed by taking Black River Road off of Highway 118, then head north on the Old Wagon Road. NOTE: These roads are not maintained which is fine for us as we have an off road truck. ALSO, they are planning on putting actual campgrounds here and opening it to the Public for camping. read more here that will be great as we don’t have enough camping spots in Ontario.

No this, No that, No anything according to the sign !

On another day, we took a drive and made our way to the Access Point for Hollow River – Dividing Lake (part of Algonquin Park), which borders Algonquin Park. We didn’t stop there long and then we continued down some other dirt roads. To get here, take Kawagama Road and you can stop at the access point. We then continued down Dagger Lake Road which ends up at Rockaway Lake.

On one of these day trips, we stopped at Muskoka Brewery for a drink. Clint took the above photo of me (obviously lol)

Wow, so many beautiful views there, Susan! No camping in that beautiful park seems odd but I suppose it takes money to run it!

They are planning on making it an operational park, maybe in the next couple of years. Campsites and a visitor centre. I hope they do!

I do not miss many things from Ontario…… but I do miss the fall colours! Every CDN should camp in Algonquin during the colour season!

The trees are gorgeous, all decked out in color, so vibrant and beautiful. No wonder you keep returning to Algonquin Park and the surrounding areas.
