The photo above was a display at the National Folk Museum of Korea. I loved these different light fixtures and would have any of them in my home.
It was a great museum and we didn’t have as much time there as we would have liked. We were with our tour group at this point and on their schedule !

Outside they had stone statues of all the animals that are for your birth year. (Zodiac signs) Clint and I are Rats.

Next stop the Geunjeongjeon Hall! Built in the fourth year of King Taejo’s reign (1395), (Joseon Dynasty) used for coronation ceremonies. While we were there, there was a display going on. It was pretty impressive.
Some other places we went to including Buckchon Hanok Village which was a residential area for the upper class established during the Joseon Dynasty and remained largely unchanged until the 1920s. The streets were all up and downhill but it was interesting to walk through.

Seoul is a beautiful city, we really enjoyed our time there. The weather has been beautiful, warm and sunny. Our tour group consists of 12 people, ourselves and one other woman are the only Canadians which is odd because G Adventures is a Canadian company with their headquarters in Toronto. We like this company because they have a policy of a maximum of 16 people per group.
But enough of that ! Our next stop was Gyeongju-si !

So many colorful buildings and sights to see here. I like the pole lamps as well, especially the ones that have fish on them. I am amazed at the narrow streets, not just for the shops, but for the cars to go down – it must be a nightmare going down that narrow street with all the people milling about. Even the side streets seem to be narrow, but lots of people going about their business and don’t seem to mind.
