Photo above I took “somewhere” but honestly can’t remember where but I loved the building and the look of it.
We stopped and spent some time in the city of Rouen, a city which was captured by the French in 1204 from the English. Rouen has a population of approximately 479,000 and is situated on the banks of the river Seine. It’s a beautiful city and has another beautiful Cathedral; the Rouen Cathedral which is the tallest in all of France. I put a couple of photos I took of local shops too, I love seeing the fresh vegetables stands!

I have a few photos of the Caen Memorial even though it will make this post a bit longer……. This Memorial commemorates WWI and the Battle for Caen. 35% of the city was destroyed during the battle.

We went for dinner that night and our Tour Guide, John, bought me a drink as it was my birthday. I was trying to keep it on the downlow but I mean I’ll take a free drink ! And for some reason, we have not one photo of me on my birthday. (John is in the blue coat and hat and he was a terrific guide.
Next stop if the Normdany Beaches …..
