Saturday 9 March, after we left Presquile, we headed to Signal Brewery for their Festival. We had pre-purchased our tickets and headed out back to the booths. The booths were all set up along the Moira River behind the buildings. Signal Brewery was open as was Henry’s.
They had a Maple Bush business there making pancake breakfasts. We did not have any, I wanted non-breakfast type items to go with my beer ! But it was a Maple Frolic so you know……………..
There was a cider company, distillery, couple of wineries and some breweries. As well they had a couple of food booths and a huge white tent with seating and where the music was playing. They also had outdoor fire pits with chairs around them to keep warm. There was also tons of things for the kids to do as well as games for adults.

Small Pony Barrel Works makes a barrel aged sour beer only. I do not like sour beer, no matter who makes it ! BUT I do know lots of people who do like it. This beer is apparently one of the best out there, No they didn’t tell me this, other people did lol. The guys were so friendly and super nice so I do recommend this drink if you like sour beer. This one did smell good, it was made with raspberries.

I LOVE RAILWAY CITY BREWERY. And my favourite IPA is Dead Elephant which is named because of Dumbo. Remember Dumbo? The brewery is located in St Thomas, Ontario which was the home of Dumbo. Apparently in mid September every year they brew up a Double Dead Elephant IPA which I believe is in honour of the month Dumbo died or something like that…………….

I love the old buildings that were restored.

Dog sledding was available, I didn’t do it, should have maybe. We did dog sledding in Alaska but it was with a wheeled sled as it was in the summer. Pretty cool though.
So a good time was had and maybe he’ll have it again next year. This was the first year and it was lots of fun and definitely a “do-again” annual event that we will attend.
See you next year !
What fun!
