Africa – Masai Mara National Reserve – Part 3

So here we are in a wonderful place. Above photo was taken at sunset and I love it, yes I know I took it but I still love it! I wanted to get a photo like this with an animal in the forefront (which I did) but this little VW bus or whatever it is, made me happy. Great timing…. for me.

The Masai Mara grasslands are 1510 sq kms, located in southwest Kenya. We saw the Masai Ostrich (we’ve now seen all 3 different types of ostriches now) and the Masai giraffes. The Masai giraffes have patterns going to their ankles where the other 2 types of giraffes, the pattern only goes to their knees.

Next Blog some The Great Migration as you may have seen on National Geographic.

Until next time……..

  1. Incredible beauty! Will never tire of “another sunset” especially when they look like the one you captured. Bravo! Sausage Tree… now we’ve seen everything. 🙃 Thank you for sharing – so much to appreciate and enjoy!

  2. I like all the sunsets, especially with a solitary tree. Very nice Susan. The Jackal is giving you the once over as you took its picture. I liked the Ostrich as well and the odd name of the bird that you called “Topi or Blue Jean Baby”. What a collection of animals and “things” you saw. I did like seeing the Sausage Tree and the heavy hanging fruit on it.
