Clint and I took a high speed train from Madrid to Barcelona, we were going, as shown above, 300 km/h. At one point I think we reached 301 km/h. This was the smoothest, fastest train we have ever been on. We went from Madrid to Barcelona in about 3 hours and we stopped 3 times for pickups. We were told they had a Cafeteria Car on the train but let’s be real, it’s a Bar Car. We walked from our car #7 back to the Bar Car for a bit of a leg stretch and a possible drink.
I may have said somewhere that this was the last post, I lied. I have so many photos from Barcelona and it was one of our favourite spots so this is not the last.
We had booked the cutest hotel to stay at called Evania Rocafort, a cute little hotel with very tiny rooms but we were there just to sleep, so we were good. We were in a terrific location and we could walk to so many different places. A photo of the Lobby below.

We were out in other areas of the city during the day but late afternoon and evenings we wandered around our neighbourhood, stopping for a drink or dinner. What a difference going there compared to where we live, there were always people, whole families, children, seniors, all out enjoying the weather and restaurants/bars. It was quite something.

A bunch of Seniors sitting and visiting, early evening
I love the streets here
I saw this and the price but I have no clue what these are. Anyone?
Cute little fruit/vegetable stand
Lots of graffiti in the city
A bar we stopped at, right around the corner from our hotel, Clint is inside getting a drink
And I’m sitting outside having mine !
A water tap and I thought it was really cute
Next Post, some of the areas in the city we went to, we did a LOT of walking. One of our favourite areas was the Gothic area. Stay tuned !

This looks like a wonderful place! That speed was 186.4MPH in our system, too fast for me on any train!

That train was going very fast – wow! I like the quaint shopping areas with the narrow streets and though it detracts from the flavor of the City, I do like that street with all the graffiti. I wish I had made it to Barcelona on our trip. I look forward to the remaining Barcelona posts.

I just did a reverse Google image search as I was curious too and these are “Bitter Melon” (also called “Bitter Gourds”).
