We had an amazing time in Luang Prabang. We did have quite a bit of free time and we used it to see as much as possible. Our hotel was pretty cute and it came with breakfast but we had to cross the street and walk to the corner to another spot to have breakfast. Then it was a short walk down the road, take a right and keep going !
We decided to go tour the Royal Palace and see whatever else we came across. I don’t think I mentioned that it was stinking hot there, in the 40’s Celsius which is well over 100 Fahrenheit. I should also mention that almost, probably all, of the temples and palaces we went to that shorts weren’t allowed, not even men could wear them. Because it was so hot, Clint wore pants that zipped off and I wore shorts and put a wraparound skirt in my backpack. I was not wearing any more clothes than I had to ! The Royal Palace was pretty nice and we did pay a small amount to tour the palace and the grounds and I did put the skirt on over my shorts and made myself hotter lol.
First photo on this page is also at the Royal Palace.
So we spent quite a few hours walking around the town and stopping at different spots. We found another temple and grounds that we visited, Wat XiengThong. It was a very beautiful spot.

We walked for a long time along the river
It was so hot, I was about ready to jump into that river

That was it for Luang Prabang, a really memorable town and lots to do and see. If you get the chance, go visit !
Now we are headed to Vang Vieng in Laos and we are going to do a homestay, more about that next time!

I always find the architecture and sculptures amazing in the cities! That’s too much humidity for me, Susan.

So much to see here and you kept up with sightseeing despite that heat and humidity – that is really hot and it zaps you at that temperature. Clever of you two with the zip-off convertible pants and a skirt in your backpack for you which saved the day. I’m trying to remember where in Spain we visited, but to enter the building, all women had to have a head covering. Alfonsa and I had to buy a mantilla to be able to go inside. I think I gave it to my grandmother in case she wanted to use it for church.

That is Arizona heat! Probably with more humidity. I would have jumped into the water with you! Hope that beer was ice-cold. 🍻 Thank you for sharing. 😊

Looks like a beautiful place to see, but I can’t handle heat and humidity. I will enjoy your pictures instead.

Yes, normally I don’t mind it at all, but there were a couple of days it was a bit rough!
