Now we are in the Loire Valley and we stopped at a beautiful old 17th century farm for lunch. De Montferrier family farm serves a wonderful lunch; we had pate, salads, quiche, wine and a tasty dessert. The buffet room where they served us used to be an old cow shed.

Great lunch
We then moved on to the Chateau and gardens of Villandry. We walked through the chateau and the gardens and even though it was raining off and on, we still had a nice time walking through the gardens.

The gardens were very well looked after

After we finished our rainy and wet walk around the gardens, we were taken to our hotel for the night. Our “hotel” was Chateau de Beauvois and it was spectacular. It was a 4-star hotel and a 15th century jewel known as a retreat for King Louis XIII. Some of the rooms were very unique, not ours though lol. It was nice but a regular room. They served cocktails prior to dinner and it was all very elegant. Charmaine and her husband Gary were on our tour as well as the others seated at our dinner table. It was a wonderful experience and I would have liked to have stayed there for more than one night.

Next we’re off to Mont St Michael and it was quite something !

Wow, I love the buildings, inside and out! That little river is intriguing, I wonder where it begins and ends? The furniture that looks like a bed also looked like a toilet that you would sit on with legs outstretched? That baby paining is… what?

I think it was a bath tub, in their time. That baby painting freaked me out a little!

Everything in this post is just so exquisite for lack of a better word … the old farm, dining in a beautiful room that was a former cow shed – the meal sounds wonderful. I really like the Chateau and how they have the loaves of bread in the kitchen, as if someone just stepped away for a moment to let them cool. The rest of the Chateau, inside and out and those gardens, the maze of shrubs like a knot garden is also amazing. The baby’s portrait – it has the face of an elderly man doesn’t it? Your rooms and where you stayed are gorgeous, what beautiful accommodations!

That baby painting was quite freaky lol but I thought people might get a kick out of seeing it. I hope the kid didn’t really look like that.🙄

Yes, poor kid if it did – sometimes you see babies with very old faces though.
