Well it’s been a while since I have written a Blog Post, not sure I remember how to do it anymore! My excuse………..we left our home on the 14 May and returned 20 October; out of that approximately 184 days, we were gone for about 126 of them. We would go somewhere, come home for a few days and leave again. I still have not managed to get through all my photos from our various adventures. I did, however, manage to go through a few I took this past Tuesday when we went to Presquile Provincial Park for a walk and a drive.
Long story short………I hope to get through the rest of my photos soon(ish) and start posting some of them along with their stories. I’m a bit overwhelmed to be honest! Now to tell you where we were and what we did……….during this time frame, we spent about 4 weeks in Algonquin Park, 5+ weeks in Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee, 3 weeks in Southern Ontario/Niagara region, (all with our trailer.) The other trips were Toronto for a couple of days, Africa for three weeks (Kenya and Tanzania) and Spain/Portugal for three weeks.
This past Tuesday we went to a meeting at our Brighton Photo Club Group. Our Club has not met since before the Apocalypse aka Covid, so it was terrific to see everyone again and exchange news. Brighton is about a 30 minute drive from our house so after our club meeting we usually end up driving through Presquile Provincial park afterwards which is about a 5 minute drive from our club meeting.

This park is set on Lake Ontario and we spend quite a bit of time here, biking, walking, swimming etc. They have a cool Lighthouse which just this year got a brand new cap put on it. The lighthouse is the second oldest operating lighthouse in Ontario and there is a nice video sharing information about the Lighthouse and also showing how they put the cap on top….. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5GE32KOPvc
It was a nice brisk day for a walk so we did a trail or two and headed home.

One of the trails
This is a beautiful walk in the fall when the trees still have leaves
I love milkpods, the fluffy stuff part anyways
Same photo in B&W
One more of the Lighthouse!
So that is that ……….. Clint and I have been very busy lately but I have made some progress in going through my thousands of photos. I am hoping before Christmas comes, I will be caught up as I am excited to share photos from Africa, the trip of a lifetime!
Thanks for reading and stay safe!

Wow, you two sure get around! I’m glad you had a safe trip. Welcome back! 🤙🏻

Welcome back! I’ve missed your photos and stories, but I am happy to read of your travels. Managing photos is a part-time job! I will be working on that today. Great reading you, catch up soon. 😊

Susan, you wow me (and maybe wear me out) where all you have traveled this year. How lucky you are. I knew about the Africa trip, but didn’t know about Spain and Portugal. I was in Spain with friends back in 1974. It was great as Alphonsa grew up in Madrid and didn’t leave there until her 20s. Her husband did not speak Spanish and neither did I. I wish we’d gotten to Portugal and I would have liked to see the Rock of Gibralter but we did not. I like this lighthouse shot and I went on a walk yesterday where the trail looked just like this – a carpet of leaves. I will look forward to your photo of everywhere you’ve been.

We didnt see the Rock of Gibraltar either, now I wonder why we didn’t lol. I would go back to Spain or Portugal, we really enjoyed both countries. haha I’m worn out too by the way! I am glad to be spending the winter at home 🙂

My friends didn’t mention going to see the Rock of Gibralter, yet when I got home, coworkers, friends and neighbors said “how did you like the Rock of Gibralter?” Oops. I liked all the old buildings and old cities in Spain. We went up the coast (Costa del Sol). I’d be worn out too. Hopefully you are going to have a mild-and-less-snow-type of Winter from El Nino.
