Here are a few random photos from this resort.

Keep walking buddy…
A bird ! (of some sort….)
Such a beautiful spot except for the deer in the garden eating the flowers
Stand Off at Sunset
I was standing on our porch when Clint took this
So now for the Giraffe story. As I mentioned, I was very excited to be staying so close to these guys and then…….I noticed there was always a few staff sitting on the hill and walking around carrying big palm frond type branches. Whenever the giraffes tried to leave this particular area, they were swatted at and scared back to this area. Maybe I don’t know the whole story but it sure seemed odd to me. I woke up in the middle of the night, cause I’m old, and looked out the window and the guys were all sitting outside our place and on the hill watching the giraffes. Now this was 2 o’clock in the morning. However, the next morning we all noticed one of the giraffes was missing, did he escape? I hope so……

They seem to be so gentle
Close Up !
There is a man to the right in this photo taking pictures, I would not get this close, we stayed on our porch
Time to go
The men are here with their switches
He is kicking up dirt, he is running so fast
My 2 a.m. picture through the window with my cell phone
Anyways, this made me sad but maybe I am overthinking it and they are happy there…..maybe……
The next morning we were getting ready to leave, you can see Clara, Me and Brietta in our jeep. Just waiting for Clint and Major Minor, our driver.

See you next time !

“cause I’m old” LOL! Your photos are amazing! Paused on the first for a bit – admiring the different colors and layers. I would not have expected to see the lush green. I hope the giraffe escaped too.

It was such a great landscape, it would be nothing but dust and dirt and then a little oasis of green beauty would pop up ! I still think about those giraffes.

That makes sense. You’ll probably be thinking about them for a long time. Their memory would stick with me too.

Hmm – seeing the men with their palm fronds aimed at keeping the giraffes together and near to the resort would give me cause to pause too. I’m sure they don’t “own” the giraffes, so they want to ensure they are there for photo ops I’m guessing. Were the giraffes “advertised” as roaming near the resort? So that would be a photo op that the tour operators that organized this tour would be interested in. I hope that is the reason. It is great seeing these giraffes – what beautiful animals. I like the close-up!

Yes exactly, we were told about the giraffes before we got there so I’m sure it’s a drawing card to bring people in. They are beautiful though aren’t they?

They are beautiful animals. I remember several years ago following the story of April the Giraffe on social media. The zoo documented her pregnancy and birth of her calf in 2017 and I just Googled how many people watched the birth on YouTube: 1.2 million. It was amazing to see her interact with her offspring.
