Amsterdam in the Spring – Part 2 – 2024

Above photo is a huge selection of wooden shoes for sale.

While we were in Amsterdam, we signed up for two different day trips. One day we went to Marken, Volendams and then Eden. We also went to a cheese place and a place where there were lots of windmills. (I can’t remember the names of the places) Yes I made a promise to do better in my journal but I guess I lied to myself. I’ll try harder.

It was a nice day and it was great to see other locations and the countryside outside of Amsterdam.

We also did a day trip to the town of Giethoorn. It’s a beautiful little spot and we took a boat ride through the canals and then had time to walk around and see the sights.

One more post on Amsterdam and then on to 2025 adventures….

  1. How quaint this Volendams side street is. If they have the canal on one side, they have to compensate and have it beautiful on the tiny street. I like the canals – they all look so pretty and clean. I like the photo of you in Volendams as well. The cheese factory and wooden shoe factory sound like fun tours.

      1. It sounds like a great place to visit … very picturesque. I saw on the news today that the Acropolis was closed to tourists in the afternoon as their heat wave had temps of 38 C/100F and someone fainted which prompted the closure.
