We booked a lot of things to do while in London and one thing we both wanted to see was Windsor Castle and Hampton Court Palace. These were not located in London so we decided to book a tour and we did both these places in the same day. It was a long day as we had to get up early and get to the Bus station, where the Golden Tours office was located, by 8 a.m. and we didn’t get back to our hotel until maybe 630-7 pm but it was a great day.

Windsor Castle was another wonderful place, the buildings are beautiful. We also went into the cathedral where Harry and Megan got married and saw the Royal Guards. The castle is located in the town of Windsor so when we left, we had time before meeting our tour guide to stop and have a bite to eat and a beer so we went to Prince Harry’s Pub. The history in England amazes me, I love reading about it, looking at it, walking around and through it. Canada is such a young country, (159 years old this year) we have history but definitely not as far back.

When we got back to London, we had to take the tube (underground subway) and head back to our hotel. It was a tiring but terrific day.

Wow, the English don’t do things half way do they! Beautiful churches and castles! The time difference must have been difficult. Was the beer served warm or did they have cold beer for we North Americans? 😂🇨🇦🇺🇸🏴

That was quite a day for you! These old structures are beautiful, especially inside and outside of Henry VIII’s home. Windsor Castle was picturesque as was St. George’s Cathedral. I did watch their wedding, just as I did Diana’s. Interesting they have a Prince Harry’s Bar!

Yes we watched both those weddings! We watched a series on tv about Henry VIII. I forget the name of it although most likely it was called Henry VIII lol. It was really good. I can’t imagine living in some of these places, so big and so many rooms!

I can’t imagine all the rooms either – you’d get lost walking from room to room. And the names of all the residences of the various Royals. I read “Spare” last year … I couldn’t keep up with all the names of the little cottages and such where they all live. 🙂
