Saint Paul de Vence on the French Riviera – May 2025

The French Riviera is quite a stunning area. We went to the town of Saint Paul de Vence and it was a spectacular medieval town and we spent a few hours wandering around and taking it all in. For over a 1,000 years, Saint Paul de Vence has been situated on a rocky peak offering views of the Mediterranean Sea to the Mercantour Mountains, simply stunning scenery. It’s also an artists mecca, so there were many galleries and stores with unique and beautiful pieces. Below is a photo I took from a distance.

We also drove to the Fragonard Parfumerie. I do not wear perfumes, I can’t really get past strong scents but I do find the whole process fascinating.

After a wonderful stay in the French Riviera, we headed off to Nice for the night and had the evening to walk down by the water and see this lovely city.

Next stop, we go to Arles and then Carcassone………two of my favourite spots. Stay tuned…

  1. Wow, the architecture and the art! Unique ancient buildings, imaging if the walls and sidewalks could speak with us! The poles with the people atop is a mystery as is the huge cube head. I’ll have a wiff of the perfume place. My ex and I visited one of those on Bermuda years ago, so wonderful! Europeans think a bit differently than we North Americans… Thank you for the tour!

  2. I had to go back to the beginning of the post and scroll down again in case I missed something the first time. Both the old and new architecture were amazing. I like the picture of you and Clint and how you are framed with the flowers and the incredible background. How picturesque everything is and how modern Nice is – everything in this post is a photographer’s paradise for sure!
