Spain – Barcelona – Part 2

As I mentioned in the last post, we did a lot of walking. We left our hotel one day and walked to the Gothic neighbourhood. We went into one church and there was a very important man there, we could tell because everyone was fussing over him and he had an entourage. A lady I spoke to was so excited, she told me he is the main Cardinal of Barcelona which meant nothing to me except he’s apparently important to the people here.

We headed down to the waterfront and saw a huge building with the sign America’s Cup. I guess they were planning on the sailing race being held there, we don’t follow sailing or Cardinals………..

As I mentioned, lots of graffiti in the city and lots of beauty too. Actually some of the graffiti was okay, some not so okay.

Next post we take a trip to Montserrat Monastery.

  1. The harbor is beautiful and there are so many palm trees, at a glance, without seeing the narrow cobblestone streets, it could be Florida or California. Looks like the graffiti is on the roll-up shutters on the storefronts; at least they aren’t writing on the bricks, unless they are and I can’t see it in the picture.
