We loved Tokyo but sadly we didn’t have much time to spend in this wonderful city. The donut above was a welcome donut we were given at our hotel in Tokyo. They were pretty cute !
We did a lot of walking the afternoon/evening we were there. I would like to have spent more time in the city but we were doing another tour in Indonesia and the way the flights worked out, we just weren’t able to.
We didn’t but you could rent these go karts and dress up like characters from the Mario Brothers game and drive around the city. Although they aren’t allowed to dress as Mario characters due to legal reasons but they have a reasonable facsmile. We spotted them a few times and they looked so cute. We also spent some time in Hachiko Square which sits directly outside the Shibuya Station and merges into the iconic Shibuya Scramble Crossing. The Scramble Crossing was wild ! Soooo many people. There was a statue in the square and it honours Hachiko who was an Akita dog who waited for nearly 10 years in that spot for his owner, after his owner passed away.

Japan was awesome and I would go back. The people are polite, there is no garbage in the streets and in fact they don’t put garbage cans out, people take their garbage home and dispose of it there. The washrooms are so clean and some of them, when you open the door, music plays, the seat lifts up and the lights come on! It’s a beautiful country and I would like to go back one day.
But we were on our way to Indonesia on the 23 May!

Such a clean city! I see several English faces, a Starbucks too. So many people though but I love that they take their rubbish home with them. Americans can learn from their culture. Thanks for sharing!!

It does look very colorful Susan, no matter what – day or night and the Mario characters in charts were fun too. I’ve not read any Harry Potter books or seen any movies, but I like how they set it up to in the building and around it to reflect Harry Potter – I liked that colorful building. The donut was cute … a nice welcome present!
